What are the limitations of the OEM system?

As standard your G8X M car has 8 non-adjustable rear arms at the rear, which control the behavior of your rear axle. BMW has left decentered bolts allow the user to adjust camber and toe when doing an alignment. The problem is, that this system has its limits, which are easily found on track cars: 

- The stock bolts max out at ~2.2 degrees of rear negative camber and even then rear TOE IN adjustment is limited to ~2-5 minutes per wheel, otherwise camber needs to be dialed back
- The stock rear arms are made with rubber bushings on one end lowering the directness and feedback given to the pilot / driver.
- The stock rear arms have their rubber bushing flex under hard cornering which limits the amount of grip your rear axle has during cornering.

What does our kit do?

The Haimus Racing Kinematics kit, simply unleashes the full potential of the rear axle of your BMW M car. It gives you full access and control over what settings you want on your BMW M car.

- The Haimus Racing Kit gives you fully adjustable rear axle arms allowing you to independently dial in your rear axle alignment to whatever is needed for the given track. Up to 4.5 degrees of rear camber is available.
- The Haimus Racing Kit uses full blown racing rose-joints bought from BMW Motorsport on each of the arms allowing the driver to feel everything  through the rear axle.
- The Haimus Racing kit is built from 7075 billet material (over 30% stronger than the industry standard 6061) to offer maximum weight savings while incredible strength.
- The Haimus Racing kit comes prepared in length so that the owner can place it and still align the camber settings from the OEM decentered bolt, but the values are increased from 1-2.2 degrees of negative camber, to 2-3.2 degrees of negative camber per wheel. This allows for the owner to do quick alignment changes at a shop near the track, without needing to get the wheels off, decoupling bolts to get to the top camber arms alignment settings.

Why add the rear axle leading control arms?

Adding the rear axle leading control arms gives you not only full adjustment over the alignment characteristics of your vehicle, but also full adjustment of the rear axle width. This can help the driver dial in his preferred understeer / oversteer characteristics, without touching the shock absorber settings, simply through increasing or decreasing rear axle width. The added bonus of having your rear axle arms fully operated through racing rose-joints and not rubber bushings increases driver feedback even further. We recommend this option for seasoned racers with experienced alignment shops, who can get the maximum out of the extra adjustment provided!
